Bentonite is a clay-based fining agent supplied in bulk 25kg. It removes haze-forming proteins and suspended solids, aiding clarification and protein stabilisation in wine, mead, cider and other beverages.
Typically hydrated before dosing and added to the liquid, then settled and racked off the lees. Dose to fining trials for the target clarity and stability.
