Liquid sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) supplied in bulk for the brewing, distilling and winemaking trade. The standard heavy-duty alkaline cleaning chemical for stripping organic soils, protein, fats and beerstone from fermenters, tanks, kettles, kegs and pipework. Liquid format doses readily into CIP and recirculation systems, avoiding the handling and dissolving step of flake product.
Used for hot caustic cleaning cycles on stainless steel plant ahead of a separate acid passivation or sanitation step. A corrosive industrial chemical: handle with full PPE, dilute into water (never the reverse), and confirm supplied concentration (% NaOH), CIP dilution and contact time from the SDS. Check compatibility with aluminium and soft metals before use.
